The Answers
1. My first job was at the Oak Park Country Club. I worked on the golf course at the half way houses as well as the snack bar at the pool. It was a good first job. $5 an hour!
2. My second job was teaching dance and gymnastics at park districts. Specifically I taught ballroom, country western couples and line, and hip hop. Plus some tumbling (not my strong point)
3. The best job I've had is working as an extra in movies and TV shows. I worked in Early Edition, What About Joan, Just Visiting, and Return to Me. It was so much fun and very interesting. I guess it's hard to call it a JOB, but I did get paid. Unfortunately there are not many movies or TV shows filming in Chicago anymore. Canada is much cheaper, so of course that is where all these productions are going.
4. My next job was when I worked as a security guard for American Protective Services. It was very good money and they were flexible with my school schedule. I worked a lot of 12-16 hour days and a lot of overnights. Nothing happened and no I did not carry a gun.
5. My next job was at Chatters, it's kind of like a deli at ISU in Walker. I worked the register, made sandwiches, pizzas, coffeee, smoothies. It was ok
6. Next I worked at Sears. First selling vacuums, computers, and sewing machines and then selling appliances. I actually had a lot of fun at Sears. I met some cool people and also made pretty good money.
7. So after I moved back to Chicago I got a job at O'Hare working in Terminal 5 at the Duty Free store. This job had its ups and downs. Overall I really liked it. Everyone I worked with was from a different country and were very nice people. Terminal 5 is the International terminal so a lot of the customers I had didn't speak English. But I learned a lot about fragrances, liquors, and makeup.
8. Currently I am working at the Wyndham Drake in Oak Brook as a waitress. Sometimes I like it. I've made anywhere from $0 to $300 in one night. It varies so much and sometimes that's really hard. I like to be busy. But serving was something I never thought I could do so I'm glad that I tried it and I'm pretty good at it.
